Résumé: | This article analyses the classifications through which dead people are identified in El Cajón, Catamarca, Argentina. Starting with three concrete and representative cases, the objective of this work aims to discuss that notions such as condenado o difunto, derive from interpretations condensing key categories in society. The inquest suggests that the social construction of the dead person, the qualifying category that orders it and the postmortem path that each case follows, lie on the way in which death occurs, but also on their life development, the historic becoming and the present reality. |
