Sumario:The research is carried out in the cross-border region of Brazil with French Guiana, in the state of Amapá, where the artisanal fishermen of the municipality of Oiapoque are having their fishing areas invaded by different actors. The research describes and analyzes 10 questions: historical aspects, the role of women, number of children and the future of fishing, age and length of service, training, migration, income composition, fishing organization and professions. The methodology was quali-quantitative (2013 to 2014), with direct observation, 177 questionnaires, interviews and mapping. As a result, the importance of the territory for the community, the work of the woman, schooling and the variety of jobs performed, the form of organization within the work that extends to the social, the distribution of income according to the actors and the environmental awareness of the group. The socioeconomic information generated is relevant, since it is the communities that feel the impact of globalization, with the decrease, competition and bankruptcy of the fishing resource.
