The relevance, efficiency and advantages of an innovative course using AutoCAD and new teaching material for independent work of both Russian and foreign students were evaluated. Algorithms for the construction of 3D models of intersecting tangent surfaces and surfaces with a common inscribed sphere were developed to control individual tasks.
