Sumario: | Considering the political dimension of photography, this work presents the analysis of a set of images showing the dead bodies of three Latin American political leaders killed in the twentieth century: Emiliano Zapata, Jorge Eliécer Gaitán and Ernesto Guevara. Based on that, it proposes an investigation on the photographs of these murdered figures in its public and socially significant dimension, examining the links between photographic practice and State violence. The study of this corpus of images seeks to make explicit the power relations that are staged and represented in the posthumous portraits of these bodies that, beyond his death, remain politically actives. |
