Sumario: | According to Law, society and police, the acts of popular violence are a manifestation of barbarism. Despite this interpretation, trials show us a hidden world that is palpable when looking at the defense of honor, jealousy and possessive love. In porfirian Mexico those acts reveal the existence of love and hatred. In daily violence, alcohol explains or hides acts caused by anger and troubles of the heart. Physical injuries like wounds in the face, temple or neck are more painful than language. The quarrel involves men and women and breaks the conventions of gender. |
