To this end, in this screening model study, "Organizational Citizenship Behavior" scale consisting of 21 expressions and developed by Özaslan, Acar and Acar (2009) was used to collect data. According to the data obtained from 174 sports managers participated in the study; it was found that organizational citizenship levels of managers were high ( =3.84). In addition, it was found that female managers had higher average than males and single managers ( =3.90) had higher average than the married ( =3.83); however, there was no significant difference between two different variables. There was a significant difference between average scores of "Organizational Virtuousness" and "Conscientiousness" sub-dimensions of "OCB" scale in terms of the variable of serving period of participants. In addition, a positive and significant relationship was found between sub-dimensions of the scale. Analyzing the mean scores of managers obtained from the whole or sub dimensions of the "Organizational Citizenship" scale according to the variable of institutions which participants were serving in; it was found that the mean scores of those serving in public organizations ( =3.86) were higher than the mean scores of managers serving in independent sports federations ( =3.83). Based on this finding, it is clear that OCB can contribute to the efficiency of sports management which is a social organization having a strong informal aspect and organizing collaborative activities. For that reason, in order to realize OCB, it can be recommended that managers should create an organization environment which is encouraging, participatory and based on mutual interaction and pays attention to information exchange.Mustafa Yaşar ŞAHİNYusuf AKYELTekin ÇOLAKOĞLUFırat Universityarticleorganizational citizenshipsports managementmanagerSocial SciencesHSocial sciences (General)H1-99DEENFRTRJournal of Academic Social Science Studies , Vol 6, Iss 23, Pp 1067-1083 (2019)
