Sumario:Abstract: We report a 72-years-old male patient with extensive differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), who required a tracheostomy and gastrostomy. Considering his clinical condition, risk of aspiration and management of the ostomies, radioiodine (131I) was administered intravenously, using recombinant human thyrotropin (rhTSH) and levothyroxine. The procedure was successful, both clinically and in terms of radioprotection.
