Sumario: | This article argues that globalization and increasing competition within markets promotes the convergence between spatial strategies of the most dynamic and innovative enterprises and the development strategies of regional and local governments. This process enhances the integration of the external units of big enterprises in the local productive systems and therefore, the endogenous development. Although the convergence of strategies is not a phenomenon which can be generalized for all type of enterprises and territories, its occurrence facilitates the regional development and event the one happening in regions having growth and structural change problems |
