Standardized surgical incision was performed in gastric mucosa of 12 rats, divided equitably into 3 groups: placebo group (PG), aspirin group (AG) and ranitidine group (RG). Either stomach wall or abdominal wall were sutured in 2 plans. The rats of PG, AG and RG received daily intragastric administration of 1ml of distilled water, 250mg/kg of aspirin and 25mg/kg of ranitidine respectively. The studies of light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy of repair of mucosal incision on 7th post operatory day displayed reepithelization of granulation tissue.
