In D. hybridus they are bean-shaped, the concavity corresponding to the parenchymatous zone and the convexity to the vascular zone. The presence of polyovular follicles in C. vellerosus and Z. pichiy is usual. Structures associated with the ovary (epoophoron, rete ovarii) are similar in the three species.
