The variation of the water quantity used in the gelation not modify considerably the texture neither the dispersion of the noble metal. The reduction level of all prepared catalyst was similar, showing displacement in some of reduction peaks. The toluene hydrogenation indicated that the conversion and the quantity of hydrogenate product varied with the pH and the quantity of water used in the gelation.
