TGA-FTIR OF PdSn FINE SOLID SUPPORTED ON MgO: CYCLOHEXENE REDUCTION

PdSn bimetallic colloids by direct evaporation of solvent and simultaneous cocondensation with metals by chemical liquid deposition (CLD) method were obtained. The evaporation of solvents produces fine divided solids, which exhibit the carbonaceous species incorporated. This is corroborated by FT-IR...

The evaporation of solvents produces fine divided solids, which exhibit the carbonaceous species incorporated. This is corroborated by FT-IR that shows the characteristic bands for the corresponding solvent. TGA allows to evaluate the thermal stability of the solids. The most stable solids were PdSn/acetone with a decomposition temperature of 412°C and a weight loss of 12.96% which allows a wide range of temperature in further applications. One of the applied field involved is the preparation of bimetallic and monometallic catalyst supported (PdSn/acetone and Pd-acetone over MgO) by the method SMAD (Solvated Metal Atom Dispersion). Such method uses the solvation of the metal atoms at low temperatures (CLD) and their subsequent dispersion over the support in one stage, giving a high percentage of metal atoms linked to the support in zero valence stage. The catalyst was studied by FT-IR, TGA and the particle size distribution by TEM. Two of the catalysts were tested in the catalytic hydrogenation of cyclohexene, with very good results. The products were characterized by IR and ¹H NMRinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSociedad Chilena de QuímicaJournal of the Chilean Chemical Society v.49 n.3 20042004-09-01text/htmlhttp://www.scielo.cl/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0717-97072004000300015en10.4067/S0717-97072004000300015
