STRUCTURE AND MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF AN ORGANIC-INORGANIC HYBRID COMPOUND: ZN/CU (BIQUINOLINE)(VO2)(PO4H2)(PO4H).(H2O)]·N
The polymeric compounds formulated as [M(Biqui)(VO2)(PO4H2)(PO4H).(H2O)]n (Biqui=biquinoline ; M: Zn(II) (1); (Cu(II) 0.30Zn(II) 0.70, (2)) present [V2O2+2]n infinite chains to which two different M(Biqui)(PO4H2)(PO4H)-1 groups attach at both sides, to form broad, stable strips, H-bonded into a 2D s...

Sumario: | The polymeric compounds formulated as [M(Biqui)(VO2)(PO4H2)(PO4H).(H2O)]n (Biqui=biquinoline ; M: Zn(II) (1); (Cu(II) 0.30Zn(II) 0.70, (2)) present [V2O2+2]n infinite chains to which two different M(Biqui)(PO4H2)(PO4H)-1 groups attach at both sides, to form broad, stable strips, H-bonded into a 2D structure parallel to (101). Stacking of planes is stabilized by π-π bonds between interdigitated Biqui groups. When M = Cu(II), magnetic interactions between metal centres are expected ; however, in the case presented herein (Cu/Zn = 0.3/0.7), magnetic dilution of paramagnetic copper prevents magnetic interactions to occur |
