Sumario: | Phytochemical study of the aerial parts of Foeniculum vulgare led to the isolation of seven compounds isolated for the first time from this species. After isolation and purification, these metabolites were characterized on the basis of spectroscopic analyses using 1D and 2D NMR as well as mass spectrometry. Furthermore, antimicrobial activity of the crude extract was evaluated using agar diffusion method. The antimicrobial test results showed that the crude extract had a great potential as antimicrobial activity against all 9 microorganisms especially fungal strains. |
