Sumario: | A highly selective synthesis of benzimidazoles from the reaction of o-phenylenediamines and aromatic aldehydes in the presence of PVP- trifluoromethanesul-fonic acid is reported, and morphological investigation was reported by FT-IR. The remarkable advantages of this method are the simple experimental procedures, shorter reaction times, high yields of product, and non-toxic catalyst. However, the reactions were performed in solvent-free and the catalyst could be reused for several runs. |
