Sumario: | Scinaia halliae (Scinaiaceae, Rhodophyta) is analysed morphologically and taxonomically from the coast of Espírito Santo and Bahia, Brazil. Specimens were collected on the intertidal and in infralitoral zones from 16 m depth through a dredge Holme. Descriptions and illustrations are presented, as well as comments on habitat and geographical distribution in the Brazilian coast. This study confirms that Scinaia brasiliensis Joly & Cordeiro-Marino is synonym of S. halliae (Setchell) Huismann, and this species is recorded, for the first time, from the coast of Bahia. |
