Inhibición de la cepa patogénica de Vibrio cholerae (tor1) por Bacillus pumilus aislados del ambiente marino
This work evaluated the inhibitory activity of 53 marine bacteria against Vibrio cholerae, a recognized human pathogen. Strains that showed activity were identified by sequencing the 16S rRNA gene and tested for optimal growth at different temperatures. The pathogen was inhibited by 19 strains, whic...

Sumario: | This work evaluated the inhibitory activity of 53 marine bacteria against Vibrio cholerae, a recognized human pathogen. Strains that showed activity were identified by sequencing the 16S rRNA gene and tested for optimal growth at different temperatures. The pathogen was inhibited by 19 strains, which were identified as Bacillus pumilus, optimal growth was at 30 and 37°C. This is the first study that reveals to B. pumilus as a growth inhibitor of the pathogenic strain V. cholerae, which could be evaluated in further studies for potential use as a control of this pathogen. |
