In this research, a model has been designed, implemented and analyzed to encourage the development of some mathematical competences in Compulsory Secondary Education students when working in an interactive and collaborative teaching and learning environment. Thus, we have analyzed the efficiency of this interactive tutorial system related to the development of some particular mathematical competences, that's to say, those that have to do with learning Statistics.
This methodological tool, interactive environment for the learning of Statistics, has activities in whose design and structure has been strongly considered on the one hand the characteristics of our students, and on the other hand the progressive inclusion of aids; also raising different levels of demand based on the activity or problem posed initially. This has been fundamental in order to give response to the educational needs of our students and for getting the basic competences and objectives of the corresponding curriculum.
Besides, we have compiled a series of graphics appeared in press from two points of view, first as a fact that it is necessary the study of Statistics in all levels of the educational system since we have found lots of errors, and second, as a means of creation of activities for our students.
On the other hand, it has been selected a series of historical examples where statistical terms can be found. These examples have been a means of inspiration for designing activities for our students.
Furthermore, we have built some tests to assess our students' statistical competence. The analysis of initial and final tests results shows the methodology used through the different phases of the research has provided a considerable rise of the global results for all the students, included the one with specific educational needs.
Besides we have validated the efficiency of our interactive environment comparing the statistical competence achieved by the students that have used it with the competence acquired by other samples of students that have not followed this methodology.
Finally, it has been made an analysis about the evolution of our students' errors related to Statistics after working with the interactive environment. |

Finally, it has been made an analysis about the evolution of our students' errors related to Statistics after working with the interactive environment.En este trabajo de investigación, se ha diseñado, implementado y analizado un modelo para potenciar el desarrollo de ciertas competencias matemáticas por parte de alumnos de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria, cuando trabajan en un entorno interactivo y colaborativo de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Hemos analizado la eficacia de este sistema tutorial interactivo en relación al desarrollo de determinadas competencias matemáticas, en concreto aquéllas que tienen que ver con el aprendizaje de la Estadística. Esta herramienta metodológica, entorno interactivo para el aprendizaje de la Estadística, cuenta con unas actividades, en cuyo diseño y estructura, se ha tenido muy en cuenta, por una parte las características de los alumnos, y por otra la incorporación progresiva de ayudas, planteando también propuestas de distintos niveles de exigencia en torno al problema o actividad inicial planteada. El planteamiento anterior ha resultado fundamental para responder a las necesidades educativas de nuestros alumnos y para conseguir las competencias y objetivos básicos marcados por el currículo correspondiente. Así mismo se han recopilado una serie de gráficos erróneos que han aparecido en prensa, desde dos puntos de vista, primero como constatación de que es necesario hacer más hincapié en la enseñanza de la estadística en todos los niveles educativos, y segundo, como fuente de creación de actividades para nuestros alumnos. Por otro lado, se han seleccionado una serie de problemas históricos en los que aparecen términos estadísticos y que han sido una fuente de creación de actividades para nuestros alumnos. También, se han elaborado distintos cuestionarios que miden la competencia estadística de los alumnos. El análisis de los resultados iniciales y finales a lo largo de las distintas fases de la investigación muestra que la metodología utilizada ha proporcionado resultados globales mejorados de forma apreciable para todos los alumnos, incluido un alumno con necesidades educativas especiales. Además, se ha validado la eficacia del entorno comparando la competencia estadística conseguida por los alumnos que han usado el sistema con otros que no han seguido esta metodología.
