Sumario:The creation of institutional spaces in the Nineteenth Century, along with the architectural construction of the first schools in Brazil, reveals clues to think about today’s “problem of spatiality” (FRANÇA, 1994) for the teaching of theater in school context. From this premise, this article is intended to discuss the difficulties and challenges that theater teachers have to face in schools, in order to achieve an effective aesthetic, artistic, and pedagogical practice of theater, once that the lack of an ethical space (wider theater classroom) hinders the effective exercise of research-creation with theater in the school context.
