Uniaxial strain-induced phase transition in the 2D topological semimetal IrTe2

Uniaxial strain is a powerful approach to tune material properties and select between nearly degenerate phases. Here, uniaxial strain is used to stabilize the elusive 6×1 charge ordered ground state of IrTe2, revealing insights into its electronic structure and type-II topological Dirac states.
