Transition to and from the skyrmion lattice phase by electric fields in a magnetoelectric compound
Magnetoelectric material Cu2OSeO3hosts topologically-protected skyrmion magnetization textures, however only in an impractically narrow temperature range. Here, the authors demonstrate how the metastable skyrmion phase may be extended to low temperatures by an applied electric field.
