| Résumé: | Language pollution is defined as the spread of foreign languages' influence in the written and oral use of a language. When we look at the Turkish language, the impact of foreign languages on language and the language pollution in this context is one of the most important problems we face today. Our language is confronted with many new concepts such as technology, culture, art and trade. These foreign concepts are preferred in many areas consciously or unconsciously, thus contributing to the pollution of our language. Our language and culture are harmed by communicating with elements taken from our foreign languages. One of the indicators of these losses is the names given to the work places. It is seen that our people do not have Turkish language consciousness and do not act with this consciousness in giving some work place names. In general, when we look at the names given to work places, it is seen that foreign language nomenclature has reached the level that will pollute our language. In this study, the names given to workplaces in Giresun were evaluated in terms of their suitability to Turkish. Reflection of foreign language tendency in workplace names of Giresun province center will be revealed. The names of workplaces in the center of Giresun will be classified under many headings by subjecting them to various classifications. With this study, it will be tried to draw attention to the language pollution in Turkish in the context of work place names in Giresun province. |
