Chondroitin 6-sulfate represses keratinocyte proliferation in mouse skin, which is associated with psoriasis
Kitazawa et al. show that chondroitin 6-sulfate represses keratinocyte proliferation in skin. They find that mice deficient in chondroitin-6-O-sulfotransferase-1 (C6st-1), which synthesizes chondroitin 6-sulfate, exhibit keratinocyte hyperproliferation and impaired skin permeability barrier. This st...

Sumario: | Kitazawa et al. show that chondroitin 6-sulfate represses keratinocyte proliferation in skin. They find that mice deficient in chondroitin-6-O-sulfotransferase-1 (C6st-1), which synthesizes chondroitin 6-sulfate, exhibit keratinocyte hyperproliferation and impaired skin permeability barrier. This study suggests that the expression level of C6st-1 may serve as a biomarker for the susceptibility to psoriasis. |
