Sumario:New benzothiophene arylpiperazine derivatives 7 (a-f) were synthesized as potential serotoninergic agents with 5-HT1A receptor affinity. Preparation of the derivatives was performed by reaction of 1-(4-aminopheny1)-4-[(4,7-dimethoxy-1-benzothien-2-y1)carbonyl] piperazine (6) with a series of substituted aroyl chlorides.
